A little gem we happened across and so worth it. The workers are super friendly and make sure to welcome you as soon as you walk in. I got the egg breakfast sandwich and was not disappointed. It was a huge omelet with bacon and cheese on a English muffin. They will let you mix things up and have suggestions if you arent sure.

If you’re in downtown Sarasota, do yourself a favor and stop by Michelle’s Brown Bag Café. 🤍 After serving the community for decades, Michelle and her team have truly mastered the art of hospitality. From the moment you walk through the door, you’re welcomed like family. The food is exceptional—fresh, high-quality ingredients prepared with care—but what makes this place so special is the love, warmth, and positive energy that fills every corner. I enjoyed an amazing sandwich inside before moving out to the terrace for dessert and coffee while catching up on a little work. It was the perfect, relaxing afternoon. I even made a new four-legged friend while I was there (yes, they’re dog-friendly! 🐾), and it was wonderful seeing Michelle’s family pitching in—a true all-hands-on-deck family business. My personal favorite is the Longboat Brie (sadly not pictured - devoured 😋), and whatever you do, don’t leave without a chocolate chunk cookie! Watching their catering team in action was impressive, and it’s no surprise they’re trusted by so many local businesses and organizations. When you see that level of care and consistency behind the scenes, you know you’re in good hands. If you

Michelle’s Brown Bag Café is one of those rare local gems that keeps you coming back again and again. We absolutely love the Brown Bag! If you’re visiting for the first time, do yourself a favor and order the Islander or the Braden-Turkey. Both are outstanding, and that’s just the beginning. Their menu is packed with amazing sandwiches, along with fresh salads, delicious soups, and plenty of other great options. What truly sets this place apart is Michelle herself. She is an absolute delight. Always smiling, friendly, welcoming, and genuinely appreciative of her customers. You can feel the warmth and care the moment you walk through the door. The food is consistently fresh, the atmosphere is inviting, and the service is exceptional. Michelle’s Brown Bag Café is everything you hope for in a neighborhood café and a wonderful example of why supporting local businesses matters. Five stars without hesitation. Highly recommended! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Lovely spot to stop and grab a bite. I had the Longboat Brie, and it was incredibly flavorful. They have a lunch combo available (see pic) that consists of a half sandwich along with either soup or salad. Everything was fresh and absolutely delightful. It tends to get busy during lunch hours, so it's wise to plan ahead or call. Michelle’s offers both indoor and outdoor seating, with the patio being our favorite! Gluten free available, which was reported to be fantastic and homemade (but not shown in pics)!

I was looking for a place with a good vibe and this one exceeded my expectations. The music is so soft you can easily talk. The service was impeccable; they recommended the special egg sandwich and it was a total success. Ideal for a spectacular breakfast.
